What Bateau Bay Is Like

Bateau Bay is built around a small, curved beach that sits between two headlands in Wyrrabalong National Park.

The beach is more sheltered than most on the Central Coast, making it a good spot for paddling, exploring rock pools, and fishing.

The area is known for its natural bushland, ocean views, and a quieter feel compared to nearby towns like The Entrance.

Bateau Bay Beach

Bateau Bay Beach is a small stretch of sand with bushland and rock platforms behind it.

The headlands protect the beach, so it’s usually sheltered from wind and large waves.

There are no lifeguards at the beach, so always check the conditions before swimming.

Many people visit to explore the rock pools, fish from the shore, or enjoy a quieter spot than the nearby surf beaches.

You can park near the beach on Reserve Drive.

Crackneck Lookout

Crackneck Lookout is one of the most scenic spots on the Central Coast.

From here, you can see long stretches of coastline and open ocean. It’s a popular place for picnics, taking photos, and watching the waves.

Between May and November, during whale migration season, this is one of the best places in the area to spot humpback whales.

The lookout is also a launch spot for hang gliding and paragliding.
