Frazer Beach is a quiet ocean beach inside Munmorah State Conservation Area, about 40 km north of Gosford on the NSW Central Coast.
Surrounded by bushland and coastal cliffs, the beach feels remote compared with many Central Coast beaches. Visitors come here for surfing, fishing, camping, bushwalking, and picnicking.
Because the beach sits inside a protected conservation area, facilities are limited and mobile reception can be poor. However, the natural setting and nearby camping make it one of the most peaceful coastal spots on the Central Coast.

About Frazer Beach
Frazer Beach sits along a stretch of coastline within Munmorah State Conservation Area, a protected reserve covering about 1,500 hectares of bushland and coastal landscape. 
The beach itself is about 400 metres long and backed by bushland. Unlike many beaches on the Central Coast, development here is minimal, which gives the area a quiet and natural feel.
Visitors often combine a trip to Frazer Beach with bushwalking, camping or exploring the nearby lookouts and picnic areas inside the conservation area.
Swimming at Frazer Beach
Frazer Beach is patrolled during the Christmas and Easter school holidays. Outside these periods, it’s unpatrolled. The surf can be unpredictable, with strong rips at times.
Surfing
Frazer Beach is known among local surfers for its reliable surf.
Because the beach is relatively secluded, it is often less crowded than many other Central Coast surf beaches.
Another advantage is that the beach is partly sheltered from strong north-easterly winds, which frequently affect other beaches during summer.
Fishing
Fishing is a popular activity at Frazer Beach.
Nearby Snapper Point, located a short distance north of the beach, is a well-known rock fishing spot. However, the area can be dangerous so only attempt it if you understand local conditions.
Visitors also fish from the rock platform near the beach.

Facilities at Frazer Beach are limited, which is typical for beaches inside national parks.
Available facilities include:

There are no cafés, shops or food kiosks, so take food and water with you.
Mobile reception is also limited in the area.
Camping at Frazer Beach
Frazer Campground sits just metres from the beach inside the conservation area.
The campground is set in bushland overlooking the ocean, and many visitors stay here to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the sound of the waves at night.
Facilities include:
- barbecue and picnic tables
- toilets and cold showers
- vehicle access via sealed roads
- six unpowered tent sites
Campers need to bring their own food and drinking water, although bore water is available.
The nearest supermarket is Woolworths Lake Munmorah, about a 15-minute drive away.
Mobile reception is limited, although an emergency phone is available.
Pets and campfires are not permitted.
Bushwalks Near Frazer Beach
Munmorah State Conservation Area has several walking tracks that pass through bushland and coastal areas.
Nearby tracks include:
- Moonee Beach Trail
- Palms Circuit Track
- Melaleuca Track
Some of these walks pass lookouts and secluded beaches within the park.

How to Get to Frazer Beach
Frazer Beach is located inside Munmorah State Conservation Area.
Driving times:
Sydney → about 1 hour 40 minutes via the M1
Newcastle → about 50 minutes via the Pacific Highway
Once inside the conservation area, follow the signs which will direct you to Frazer Beach and Frazer Campground.
A national park vehicle entry fee applies.
