North Avoca is a peaceful coastal town on the NSW Central Coast, 90 minutes north of Sydney.
It's mostly a residential area, with homes backing the beach and others tucked into the leafy hills.
North Avoca nestles between the livelier Terrigal to the north and Avoca Beach to the south.
We like spending time at this town because of the relaxing village feel.
The highlight at North Avoca is the stunning 1.7 km beach that stretches between two rocky points. At the southern end is Avoca Beach. The scenic Avoca Lake sits in the middle and is sometimes open to the sea.
The best thing to do in North Avoca is relaxing, swimming and surfing.
For a safe swim, stick to the area between the flags next to the surf lifesaving club. Lifeguards patrol the beach from the September school holiday through to April.
Surfing here is fantastic too, especially along Avoca Beach.
If you have a furry friend, the stretch between View St and Avoca Shark Tower is dog-friendly. Your dog can splash in the ocean or in the lagoon.
You can also enjoy a long walk on the beach toward Avoca Beach or over the hill to Terrigal.
